2/3 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 Tbs water
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cloves
1 cup raisins or chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts, walnuts or pecans
3 cups quick cooking oats
1 cup mashed bananas
Mix thoroughly, shortening, sugar, egg, water and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop by teaspoonfuls, 1 inch apart on greased baking sheet. Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes or until almost no imprint remains when touched with finger.
Remove immediately from baking sheet. Store in tightly covered container.
