Dill Dip

This recipe, or one like it, dates back to at least the 60's. But it is universally liked by all. Serve with fresh veggies.

1 cup mayonnaise

1 cup sour cream

1 Tbs dried dill weed

1 Tbs dried minced onion

1 Tbs dried parsley

1 tsp (or less) seasoned salt

Mix all together and refrigerate 24 or more hours before serving with assorted fresh vegetables.

Mazing Artichoke Dip

Cheese crisps are a great “cracker” for scooping it up, and it’s also great with carrot sticks, celery, strips of raw bell peppers, or any number of other goodies.

Another great thing about this dip is that it can be made very quickly by microwaving the ingredients sort-of-separately, mixing, then broiling in the oven. If you have more time and want fewer steps in preparation though, you could just mix everything together  and then throw it in the oven at 350º for 30-45 minutes or until it’s heated through.

8 oz. Cream Cheese, warmed in the microwave for 2 minutes on 50% heat to soften it – (Even if you’re making your dip in the oven, pre-microwaving the cream cheese will help you mix it with the other ingredients, so I recommend not skipping this step.)
A dollop of sour cream – maybe 1/4 – 1/3 cup
A dollop of mayonnaise – about 1/4 cup
About a cup of chopped spinach (either fresh, cooked, or frozen, thawed)
2 cans or jars of non-marinated artichoke hearts, roughly chopped
Garlic salt
Chili powder – be generous! The cream cheese and sour cream will act to “cool” the dip, so you can sprinkle away with the chili powder
A handful of shredded mozzarella cheese

Mix all ingredients in a baking dish, and sprinkle on a bit more mozzarella, and then broil until the cheese is browned.

Spinach Dip

1  pkg  frozen chopped spinach
2  green onions, chopped
1  pkg  Knoor Vegetable Soup Mix (not the creamy style)
1  can  sliced waterchestnuts
1  cup  each  mayonnaise and sour cream

Thaw, drain, and squeeze out the spinach. Dice the waterchestnuts. Combine all ingredients together and chill overnight. Serve with Hawaiian bread or chunks of French bread.

Tuna Dip for Vegetables

1  pint  sour cream
1  pkg  Good Seasons Italian Dressing Mix
1  small can tuna, drained

Mix everything together and chill at least 8 hours. Serve with fresh vegetables.

Shrimp Dip

8  oz  cream cheese, softened
1  cup  sour cream
1  can tiny or medium shrimp
3  Tbs  chili sauce
Dash of celery seed and onion salt

Rinse shrimp and pick out anything in there that isn't supposed to be. Mix all ingredients together. Chill. Serve with rippled potato chips or white corn chips. You can also stuff celery sticks with this.

Belle's Fruit Dip

From a late family member, Belle Claudon. I usually use frozen OJ concentrate with a little bit of water added. It is more flavorful. Serve with fresh fruits.

3  oz  cream cheese, softened
1/4  cup  honey
1/4  cup orange juice
2  tsp  prepared yellow mustard
1  cup  Cool Whip

Blend cream cheese, OJ, honey, and mustard. Fold in Cool Whip. Chill.
