Ambrosia Date Cookies

2  cups  flour
1  tsp  baking powder
1/2  tsp  soda
1/2  tsp  salt
1  cup  butter
1  cup  brown sugar
1  cup  white sugar
2  eggs
1  tsp  vanilla
1-1/2  cups  oats
1  cup  chopped nuts
1  cup  raisins
1  cup  chopped dates
1  cup   coconut

Preheat oven to 350°.

Beat sugar and butter together. Add eggs and vanilla. Continue to beat until well blended.

Reserve ½ cup flour and toss the cut-up dates in it. Sift together, the remaining flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add to sugar mixture.

Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop on greased cookie sheet and bake until lightly browned around the edges, 10-12 minutes, depending on size. Do not over-bake.

NOTE:
If your raisins need to be freshened up, soak them in almost boiling hot water, for about 10 min. Drain before using.
